MANASLU CIRCUIT TREK(Restricted) 18 days Grade 4
April/May & Sept. - Nov.

Routes in the Manaslu region have only recently been opened to trekkers.
Starting from the historical township of Gorkha, the trail first leads
through villages of an old established agricultural society which explains
the neatly carved paddy fields of the lower Buri Gandaki Valley.

As you ascend to the upper Buri Gandaki, the landscape changes. There are
stony alpine pastures, buddhist chortens and mani walls. This area is
inhabited by direct descendants of Tibetan immigrants who have maintained
their original dress, culture and customs. You cannot get much closer to
Tibet without actually going there.

From Larkya Pass there are excellent views of all the three peaks of
Manaslu as well as Ganesh Himal, Himlung Himal, and after crossing the pass,
views to the west of many giant peaks including 7937m high Annapurna II.
The trail then descends into the Marsyangdi Valley and leads to Besi Sahar
for the drive back to Kathmandu.

As this trek leads into a "restricted area" a special permit fee is payable
and a liaison officer must accompany the group.
